Despite being a goddess, she lived a very simple life full of trials and tribulations. She went through all the challenges of her life with stoic calmness, dignity and adherence to Dharma (righteousness) and this made her emerge the ultimate winner. Through her life story, Sita showed how a strong woman should be and how to never let go of your principles in life.

Sita’s devotion and dedication to Lord Rama was proven when she was abducted by demon Ravana. She grew stronger in this adverse situation and all Ravana’s advances to win Her over failed completely. She even fearlessly told Ravana that he will soon meet his death by the hands of Rama. Throughout the ordeal, Sita’s constant focus on the Lord Rama in her heart helped Her to stay calm and confident that He will save her.

Sita devi bestows the qualities of humility, purity, sacrifice and courage. She is the epitome of devotion as a wife, daughter, and a mother. On this day, girls and women perform various rituals in worship of Her, gaining the Blessings of Goddess for a happy life.
