Guru Purnima with Maha Abhishekam and OM Chanting

We invite you to a special celebration at our ashram on the 29th of July, the full moon, to commemorate Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to honouring spiritual teachers. This is a great opportunity to participate in spiritual practices in a spiritual community.
Guru Purnima is the day when we honour our Satguru, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda. The Guru embodies the essence of sacred wisdom and guides us on our spiritual path, helping us to move towards self-discovery and a deeper connection with the divine. The relationship between disciple and Guru is eternal, based on trust, respect and devotion. As Paramahamsa Vishwananda says, “The goal of the devotee is to attain the Guru’s grace, guru-kripa. By guru-kripa one is elevated and attains all the gifts, all the achievements, all the wealth and even liberation.”
On this day, we honour our beloved Gurudeva with sacred ceremonies that symbolise our gratitude and humility.
On this special day, you are welcome to participate in:
Full Moon Maha Abhishekam
Abhishekam is a beautiful bathing ritual. This ritual symbolises purification, surrender to the divine. It is not just an external act, but a powerful practice that brings peace and clarity. This ritual becomes even more special when performed during the full moon. During the full moon phase, the water element of our body is particularly active, which can intensify emotions and energy flow. This is why Abhishekam is so powerful during this period – it helps to transform any negativity, balance our natural being and purify both mind and body. When we perform the Abhishekam ritual on a full moon, we receive even more blessings and divine support as the energy of the full moon enhances the purifying and harmonising effects of the ritual. It is a unique opportunity to experience deep transformation and feel the divine presence.
OM Chanting
During abhishekam, OM Chanting will take place – a simple but very effective Atma Kriya Yoga technique. With the blessings and guidance of spiritual masters Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishvananda and Mahavatar Babaji, OM Chanting uses the transformational power of OM to activate the self-healing potential of participants. It purifies and transforms on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. The vibrational waves created by the OM Chanting practice spreads out in a 2-kilometre radius, creating a harmonious, peaceful environment and a unity between humans and nature. Learn more about OM Chanting.
Yagna
Yagna is a powerful Vedic fire ritual during which we make offerings into the fire. Fire, as a divine element, serves as an intermediary between human beings and God, helping to purify the environment and ourselves, as well as bringing our prayers directly to the divine. It is a unique opportunity to experience transformative energy and receive blessings.
Heartfelt Bhajans and Dances
By chanting bhajans and dancing together, we open our hearts to the divine energy.
Delicious prasad
At the end of the evening, we will enjoy prasad. Prasad is not just food – it is a dish that has been offered to the Deities and consecrated, carrying Divine grace and blessing. Every mouthful is an opportunity to receive Divine energy and experience God’s love. It is a time not to enjoy a delicious treat and share impressions with like-minded people.
Do you want to receive even greater punya and help us organise a beautiful celebration?
When we offer our love to the Divine, the Divine showers us with blessings. Giving from the heart is a true blessing in and of itself. Giving without expecting anything in return multiplies the blessings even more, especially when you selflessly sponsor an event. Your donation helps to support the event. Everyone who makes a contribution benefits from the prayers that are done, even if you are unable to attend! As a sponsor, your name will be mentioned during the rituals.
