Ninth Day of Navaratri – Siddhidatri Devi

Navaratri is a 9-night festival celebrating Goddess Durga’s victories over the demons that represent the negative qualities that keep us from realising our true, eternal self. The Divine Mother, in the form of Durga Maa, is the Remover of Miseries. She appears in 9 different forms, each an embodiment of the qualities that one needs to advance on the spiritual path.
Siddhidatri Devi is an aspect of Maha Lakshmi; She is the ultimate form of the Goddess who is unified with the sustenance and liberation forces of the great Lord, Maha Vishnu. In order to attain ‘siddhis’, power, you need knowledge and wisdom, which Mother Siddhidatri grants. She is the One who delivers eighteen types of successes, both spiritual and material. We pray to Siddhidatri Devi to bestow on each one the Grace of Love, the Grace of Wisdom and the Grace of attaining Her Grace. Her colour is red.
